District 109, Teachers Union Come To Agreement

4-year deal likely to be approved before current contract expires on June 30.

Board of Education President Steven Schwartz made the announcement during a regularly scheduled meeting Monday, the Deerfield Review reports. Final terms are being discussed by lawyers, but formal approval is expected in a month or two.

“We have a tentative agreement for a tentative agreement,” Schwartz said. “The parties came to an agreement in principal. The lawyers are reviewing it and will have a final agreement for each side to review.”

The current contract expires June 30.
