Theatre in the Woods Auditions

Theatre in the Woods is holding auditions for A.R. Gurney's play The Dining Room, an in-depth portrait of a vanishing species: the upper-middle-class WASP. The actors change roles, personalities, and ages as they portray a wide variety of characters, from little boys to stern grandfathers, giggling teenage girls to Irish housemaids. Director Brent A. Stringfield is seeking 3 women and 3 men, each to play 9–10 characters. All ages and types are encouraged to audition. Headshots and resumes extremely helpful but not required. Performances are March 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, and 25. Auditions will take place Sunday, January 15 at 7pm, and Monday, January 16 at 7pm, at The Estonian House, located at 14700 Estonian Lane (off Milwaukee Avenue, just north of Deerfield Road) in Riverwoods. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and improvisation. No appointment necessary.
