Fall Leaf Collection Program Begins Oct. 30 In Deerfield: Village
Residents are being asked to not put leaves out until collection begins.

DEERFIELD, IL — Leaves are starting to fall across Illinois with fall foliage set to peak in the next week. The Deerfield Public Works Department is reminding residents not to rake leaves into streets, sidewalks and carriage walks with the Village's leaf collection program starting on Monday, Oct. 30.
Residents looking to have leaves picked up before the program begins can place them into their organics container at no additional cost. The Village also released the following list of guidelines and reminders for leaf pickup, as well as a leaf collection map:
- Rake leaves into piles no greater than five feet in width
- Do not rake leaves into the streets, sidewalks or carriage walks
- Do not put out leaves more than one day prior to pickup
- Do not rake grass clippings, sticks, rocks, branches or mud to the curb with your leaves
- Do not park on the street the day of your pickup
- Try to put leaves out each week
- Inclement weather may delay pickups, but crews will make at least five trips through each neighborhood
- Direct landscapers to abide by the Village’s guidelines for leaf collection
