Family Unharmed After Deerfield House Fire

A Friday afternoon house fire in the 800 block of Forest Avenue in Deerfield has temporarily displaced a family, but no one was injured.

One family member immediately smelled smoke and got everyone out of the house before calling the fire department, according to the Deerfield Review.

“There were people in the home including children,” Deerfield Bannockburn Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Ray Larson said. “The person smelled smoke, evacuated the people and called 911.”

Damage to the house was contained to one room. The cause is still under investigation.
