The Shakou Cares Program is proud to partner with GiGi’s Playhouse to support local families in opening a new playhouse in Deerfield.

On May 21^st, Shakou Libertyville will host, Good Eats for Good! An evening of food, drinks, community, and fundraising. Proceeds will go towards the opening of the new GiGi’s Playhouse in Deerfield. For tickets please visit gigisplayhouse.org/deerfield. Tickets are $75.00 and include Shakou signature Maki, hot appetizers, and 1 drink ticket.

The Shakou Cares program is the social mission of Shakou. The owners of Shakou designed the program to help support local causes within the community and is dedicated to raising funds, finding cures, and championing worthy causes.

Several families in the community have been working hard to bring GiGi’s Playhouse to Lake County! GiGi’s Playhouse is a Down Syndrome Achievement Center that focuses on achievement, belief, and confidence via FREE therapeutic and educational programs for children, adults, and their families. The Deerfield Playhouse will offer many different programs. Each program focuses on a specific aspect of skill development in the areas of education, social skills, speech and language skills, and fine and gross motor development. The community has an open invitation to come and check out what GiGi’s Playhouse is all about!

GiGi was born with Down syndrome in 2003 and is the motivation behind the creation of these Playhouses. Nancy, GiGi’s mom and GiGi are based out of GiGi’s National Achievement Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. There are now 31 Playhouse locations and 1 in Mexico. Helping children and young adults at GiGi’s Playhouse extends beyond the Down syndrome diagnosis. If you believe in a kinder and more accepting world, and believe in helping others, then GiGi’s Playhouse is the place for you.

GiGi’s Playhouse Deerfield and local volunteers will further the mission of bringing positive and accurate information about Down syndrome to Deerfield and surrounding communities.
