Good Samaritan Uses Heimlich Maneuver to Save Choking Victim at Cooker's Red Hots

DEERFIELD, IL - A Good Samaritan saved the life of a choking victim at Cooker's Red Hots in Deerfield last week.

Emergency crews were called to respond to the restaurant at 469 Lake Cook Road in Deerfield on Thursday, Oct. 27, according to a news release from the village of Northbrook. But prior to their arrival, it was found that the Good Samaritan had already performed a successful Heimlich Maneuver on the victim.

The patient was doing well by the time the crews arrived.
