A 'Hip' Plan for Fast-Casual at Biaggi's Site in Deerfield Square

Developer wants either a fast-casual restaurant or coffee shop to replace Biaggi's in new building.

DEERFIELD, IL - In the world today, we’ve seen a gradual shift in popularity from the traditional fine-dining Italian restaurant to the fast-casual style. That’s no different in Deerfield, where a plan exists to replace the building that was once home to Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano with a four-business center that will include either two fast-casual restaurants or coffee shop.

The CRM Properties Group has that in mind for The Shops at Deerfield Square at the northeast corner of Waukegan and Deerfield roads, an idea that’s already received unanimous approval from the village plan commission, according to the Deerfield Review.

The proposed building will 10,110 square feet, larger that Biaggi’s. It will have four tenant space with glass wall systems and two patios.
