Jewish H.S. Seniors Set To Display Talents At Charity Basketball Game
The 3rd annual Chicagoland Jewish Basketball Showcase will feature players from the North Shore and beyond.
NORTH SHORE, IL — With bragging rights on the line, area Jewish high school basketball players are set to square off in the 3rd annual Chicagoland Jewish Basketball Showcase.
This year's edition will be played at on Sunday, April 26, at Ida Crown Jewish Academy in Skokie. Tip-off for the all-star game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Mike Kamin, showcase director, tells Patch admission is $10 at the door. Proceeds from the game will be directed to the Hadassah Medical Organization, which supports Hadassah hospitals in Israel.

Players in the game, all seniors, will represent schools ranging is size from 4A to 1A, including those from Deerfield, Vernon Hills, Lane Tech, Latin School, Rochelle Zell and more. Players will be split into two equal teams.
While the roster and commitments for the game are currently being finalized, Kamin provided Patch with the names of the following players scheduled to play:

- Evan Nagler, Deerfield High School
- Ronen Ousley, Rochelle Zell Jewish High School
- Bryson Rome, Glenbrook North
- David Issacson, Highland Park High School
- Evan Mintzer, Highland Park High School
- Atticus Richmond, Adlai Stevenson High School
- Jeremy Zamost, Vernon Hills High School (will not play due to injury)
- Brady Larsen, Vernon Hills High School
- Frankie Greenberg, De La Salle Institute (will not play due to injury)
- Will Levy, New Trier
- Chase Kaplan, Lane Tech
- Chayim Zahtz, Fasman Yeshiva High School
- Judah Well, Ida Crown Jewish Academy

- Logan Kurtz, Tuscola Community High School
Coaches for the game are York assistant JJ Pearl, Andrew Braverman from Wheeling, Jacob Goldstein from Bulls College Prep, Sid Singer from Fasman Yeshiva and Marty Dello from Rochelle Zell, according to the announcement. Pearl recently helped guide York to a fourth-place finish in Class 4A.
"The level of Jewish basketball talent in the area is deep, far deeper than some people may realize" Kamin said. "We have All-State and All-Area players who can match up with players from any high school all-star game. They truly enjoy the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of family, friends, teammates and coaches. More importantly, these kids are eager to see how they measure up to their peers who they may or may not know about. It’s a lot of fun to see them all come together."
