Mailbox Damage, 2 DUI Arrests: Riverwoods Police Blotter

RIVERWOODS, IL — Two DUI arrests, a warrant arrest and an incident involving damaged mailboxes are among the latest reports from the Riverwoods Police Department.

The following information comes from Riverwoods Police Department reports. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Warrant Arrest

Angela M. Keys, 41, of La Porte, Indiana, came to the Riverwoods Police Department at 6:22 p.m. Aug. 11, regarding a personal property matter involving a Riverwoods resident, police said. Officers determined Keys had an active 2022 DuPage County warrant for failing to appear on a disorderly conduct charge. She posted $200 bond and was given a Sept. 28 court date in DuPage County.

DUI Arrest

Paul J. Obos, 64, of Bartlett, was arrested shortly after midnight Aug. 12, following a traffic stop near Lake Cook and Portwine roads, police said. He was charged with speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was processed, released and given a Sept. 3 court date in Lake County.

Mailbox Damage

James R. Carpenter, 38, of Buffalo Grove, was arrested at 6:49 p.m. Aug. 26, after police responded to Duffy Lane and Riverwoods Road for a report of someone damaging mailboxes and removing mail from them, according to police.

After being taken to the police department, Carpenter allegedly punched and damaged a wall. He was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damage to state-supported property and was given a Nov. 7 court date in Waukegan.

DUI Arrest

Taras Hatsaliuk, 32, of Mount Prospect, was arrested at 2:49 a.m. Sept. 6, following a traffic stop near Lake Cook and Portwine roads, police said. He was charged with speeding, no valid driver's license and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was processed, released and given an Oct. 8 court date in Lake County.
