Majority Of Deerfield Readers Uneasy With Phase 4: Poll

DEERFIELD, IL — While a slight majority of local residents feel the speed in which the state has eased coronavirus-related restrictions has been too fast, a much larger number admit being uncomfortable eating out at a restaurant or bar, according to a recent Patch survey. Last Friday, the state moved into Phase 4 of Gov. J.B. Pritzker's Restore Illinois plan.

A total number of 896 readers participated in our poll. We thank all that took the time to fill out the survey.

• Highland Park (124 participants, 13.8 percent)
• Lake Forest-Lake Bluff (108 participants, 12.1 percent)
• Northbrook (103 participants, 11.5 percent)
• Evantson (76 participants, 8.5 percent)
• Niles-Morton Grove (63 participants, 7 percent)
• Arlington Heights (61 participants, 6.8 percent)
• Wilmette-Kenilworth (59 participants, 6.6 percent)
• Deerfield (49 participants, 5.5 percent)
• Winnetka-Glencoe (46 participants, 5.1 percent)
• Glenview (43 participants, 4.8 percent)
• Buffalo Grove (35 participants, 3.9 percent)

According to the data, the majority of parents who have children of the required age are uncomfortable with sending their kids back to school, daycare and summer programs.

In addition, a vast majority are uncomfortable frequenting a gym or physical fitness center, and attending indoor entertainment, such as a movie or performance.
