Man With 4 Burglary Warrants Arrested: Riverwoods PD Blotter
The Rolling Meadows resident had warrants for burglary, retail theft from four different police departments.
RIVERWOODS, IL — The following information comes from the Riverwoods Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

- Sumit Varshney, 48, of the 700 block of Creek Bend Drive, Vernon Hills, is accused of speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 10:38 a.m. Feb. 4, at Milwaukee Avenue and Chicory Lane. He was released after his arrest and assigned a court date of March 13.
- Luc R. Van Brenk, 27, of the 100 block of Wilma Place, Park Ridge, is accused of improper lane usage, expired registration, driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 10:01 p.m. Jan. 6, following an investigation into a single vehicle crash in the 800 block of Portwine Road, he was reportedly involved in. He was released and assigned a court date of Feb. 14.
- Diana Mariya Kursov, 40, of the 2500 block of Waterside Drive, Aurora, is accused of speeding, expired registration, DUI alcohol, and was arrested at 1:20 a.m. Jan. 7, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. She was released and assigned a court date of Feb. 14.
BURGLARY
Christopher E Mazurek, 33, of the 2300 block of George Street, Rolling Meadows, had four active warrants out of Vernon Hills, Wauconda, Grayslake and Addison, for retail theft and burglary, and was arrested at 8:39 p.m. Feb. 6, near Deerfield Road and Milwaukee Avenue. Riverwoods police had stopped Mazurek for improper display of registration and an improperly secured load. Burglary tools and suspected stolen items were recovered from the vehicle. Riverwoods police detectives are continuing the investigation with the other involved agencies.
