Man Nabbed For Sexual Abuse, Battery: Lake County Sheriff's Blotter

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The following information comes from the Lake County Sheriff's Office and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. ARRESTS

POSSESSION OF A STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE

Thomas Walker, 39, of the 2300 block of Root Street, Crest Hill, is accused of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, driving while license revoked, and was arrested July 22 in the 9900 block of Beach Road, Beach Park. He was being detained in the Lake County Jail at the time of the report and was assigned a court date of Aug. 13.

VIOLATING A COURT ORDER

Mauresha S. Stamps, 28, of the 3200 block of Gilead Avenue, Zion, had a warrant for violating a court order, and was arrested July 22 at Lewis Avenue and Everett Street, Waukegan. They paid $1,000 (10 percent) of a bond and were assigned a court date of April 1, 2025.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

• Christian Alvarez Fajardo, 30, of the 1600 block of Richard E. Bush Court, Waukegan, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license suspended, open transportation of alcohol, and was arrested July 22 at Green Bay Road and Argonne Drive, Waukegan. A court date of Sept. 4 was assigned.
• Thomas E. Feeney, Jr., 35, of the 1800 block of N. Delany Road, Gurnee, is accused of DUI drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and was arrested July 23 at Yorkhouse and Townline roads, Waukegan. He was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 10.
• Derek A. Miks, 44, of the 33500 block of Royal Oak Lane, unincorporated Grayslake, is accused of DUI alcohol, improper transportation of cannabis, no driver's license, no insurance, and was arrested July 26 at Gages Lake Road and Old Gages Lake Road, unincorporated Grayslake. He was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 28.

BATTERY

• Giovanni W. Perez, 31, of the 100 block of Douglas Street, Woodstock, had two warrants out of McHenry County for aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery, and was arrested July 22 in the 2700 block of Hartigan Road, Volo. A future court date in McHenry County was to be determined at the time of the report.
• Zion Fleming, 23, of the 38100 block of N. Loyola Avenue, Beach Park, is accused of aggravated battery, and was arrested July 24 at Lake County Jail. He was being held on other charges and was assigned a court date of July 30.

OBSTRUCTING A PEACE OFFICER

Daniel Q. Garibay, 29, of the 34900 block of Catherine Street, Ingleside, is accused of obstructing a peace officer, suspended registration, and was arrested July 22 at Routes 12 and 134, Ingleside. He was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 24.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Danny Rivera, 30, of the 3900 block of Harmony Court, Zion, had a warrant for disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, new charge of improper transportation of cannabis, and was arrested July 24 at Route 173 and Kenosha Road, Zion. He was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 8.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE REVOKED/SUSPENDED

Myra A. Arteaga, 35, of the 500 block of S. Lake Street, Mundelein, is accused of driving while license revoked, on insurance, and was arrested July 24 at Diamond Lake Road and Saddle Ridge Drive, Long Grove. She was released following her arrest.

THEFT

Joshua J. McCarthy, 37, of the 10700 block of 17th Street, unincorporated Zion, had a warrant for theft, parole violation from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, and was arrested July 27 in the 10700 block of 17th Street, unincorporated Zion. A future court date was to be determined at the time of the report.

CRIMINAL SEXUAL ABUSE

Donald J. Hertel, 75, of the 24000 block of W. Chardon Road, unincorporated Grayslake, is accused of criminal sexual abuse, battery, and was arrested July 27 in the 30900 block of N. Bacon Road, unincorporated Grayslake. He was being detained in the Lake County Jail at the time of the report and was assigned a court date of July 30.

UNLAWFUL RESTRAINT

Sebastian Soto-Uresti, 21, of the 1000 block of W. Hawley Street, Mundelein, is accused of unlawful restraint, domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, criminal trespass to residence, and was arrested July 27 in Lake Villa. He was being detained in the Lake County Jail at the time of the report and was assigned a court date of July 30.
