“Miles for Meghan” Walk at Kipling School - Sunday, June 3rd
Raising Money for Outdoor Learning Center In Memory of Kipling Teacher Meghan Trauten Bolon
DEERFIELD – In December 2017, the Kipling Elementary School community lost a very special teacher, Meghan Trauten Bolon. Meghan left a mark on the school as an amazing teacher and friend.
Meghan’s death from Triple Negative Breast Cancer at age 36 has left a big hole in the Kipling, Deerfield and surrounding communities. She has touched many lives, and will never be forgotten. Meghan was a resident of Northbrook, and formerly of Buffalo Grove. The Kipling Community Walk “Miles for Meghan” will be held from 9:30 to 11:00am, Sunday, June 3, at Kipling Elementary School, 700 Kipling Place, Deerfield.

In Meghan's memory, the Kipling community has a vision to create the Meghan Bolon Outdoor Learning Center in a previously unused outdoor courtyard of the school. The vision is to establish a multi-purpose, multi-sensory space where students and teachers can learn and connect in a calm, serene, and natural setting. The versatile space can be used for anything from an outdoor classroom to a place for students to relax and breathe in the fresh air. In addition, the school hallway leading to the courtyard will be renamed Bolon Blvd.

This family event to celebrate Meghan's life has a suggested donation for the walk of $10/person ($25/family), and can be made through the fundraiser website.
