New Indian Restaurant To Open in Bannockburn

Marigold Maison will replace San Gabriel Mexican Cafe in Bannockburn Green.

An Indian restaurant is expected to open the first week of May in Bannockburn.

Marigold Maison will take up shop at 2535 Waukegan Road - the former San Gabriel Mexican Cafe site in Bannockburn Green, according to the Deerfield Review.

“We buy all of our spices whole and grind them in-house,” said executive chef Sunil Kumar. “We use fresh, organic ingredients that set us apart and give our customers a dining experience.”

The restaurant, owned by JNK Concepts of Lake Forest, gets its name from the edible flower used in India for prayer. It will handle as many as 110 guests - including 35 in a private dining area and 60 outdoors - in a 4,700-square foot space.

Menu items include seared eggplant, chickpea ceviche, gol guppa, chicken tikka, tikka masala, biryani hyderabadi Punjabi bharta and saag paneer.
