New October Exhibit features Chicagoland in Photography at the NSYMCA

Chicagoland in Photography will hold a reception at the NSYMCA on Wednesday, October 4th

Northbrook, IL: October 2023 – North Suburban YMCA’s Community Gallery is showcasing a group of local artists called Chicagoland in Photography throughout the month of October. All of the work featured will be for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Visual Arts department of the NSYMCA. A reception is being held on Wednesday, October 4th from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the NSYMCA in Northbrook.

Chicagoland in Photography is a group of photographers who have been meeting for the past six years to develop their photography skills and techniques. The group consists of 14 photographers/artists: Andy Kaplan, Art Bloom, Charles E. Needham, Dave Penner, Gary Kramer, Harry Hunderman, Howard Frank, Jane Leland, Laura Dubnik, Michael Jablon, Rich Fisher, Rick Katz, Rick O’Konis and Steve Chapman.

Each photographer/artist has their own unique perspective on photographing and post processing the photographs. The group meets weekly and specifies Chicago area locations, landmarks or activities and brings their perspective to the subject, resulting in many interpretations of the assigned subject.

The displays at the NSYMCA Community Gallery highlight various Chicago area locations and viewers are encouraged to contact the individual photographer to engage in discussion of the subject matter.

This group is open to anyone with two requirements that include being actively interested in photography and having a camera, with which to take pictures.
