NSYMCA Community Gallery Showcases “Reflections Of” by Robin Langer through February
Artist Reception held On Sunday February 8th from 1-4pm at the NSYMCA in Northbrook

Northbrook, IL – February 2026 – The North Suburban YMCA (NSYMCA) is proud to present its latest Community Gallery exhibition, “Reflections Of,” featuring Chicago-based artist Robin Langer. The exhibition is now on display through the end of February at the NSYMCA Community Gallery in Northbrook.
An interdisciplinary painter and sculptor, Langer draws inspiration from nature—particularly light, water, sound, birds, rocks, and reflections. Her creative practice spans welding, stone carving, acrylic, oil, charcoal, pastel, and watercolor, and reflects a lifelong exploration of wonder, connection, and spirituality.
Since 2002, Langer has studied with notable artists and institutions including Sarah Kaiser at the Noyes Cultural Center, Mary Flack at Insight Art Studio, Kathleen Newman at Old Town Art Center, Alain Picard, Marla Bagatta, and instructors at the Evanston Art Center and CDAIC. Recently, she has focused on plein air painting, deepening her ability to capture moments directly from nature.

“Reflections Of” marks Langer’s first solo exhibition and presents a chronological journey of work spanning more than 17 years. The collection illustrates how nature has shaped her artistic evolution and personal growth as an artist and parent. Langer dedicates the exhibition to the teachers who have influenced her throughout her life.
The public is invited to meet the artist at a gallery reception this Sunday, February 8, from 1:00–4:00 pm, held at the NSYMCA Community Gallery. Small bites and beverages will be served.

Her work has been exhibited at the Chicago Cultural Center, Palette & Chisel, Highland Park Art Center, Old Town Art Center, Noyes Cultural Center, Space Gallery, and other pop-up venues throughout Chicagoland. She is also an active member of Chicago Plein Air Painters, CAVA, and Chicago Pastel Painters.
“My artistic journey began as a young child in Northbrook, and I am thrilled to present my first solo show in my hometown at the NSYMCA,” said Langer. “Nature, water, and the rhythms of life continue to inspire my work. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share this expression and invite viewers to reflect on their own journeys.”
All artworks will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the NSYMCA’s Visual Arts programs. The NSYMCA Community Gallery supports local and regional artists while bringing accessible arts experiences to the community. The gallery is open during regular YMCA operating hours at 2705 Techny Road in Northbrook.
