NSYMCA Welcomes artist Lois Johnson to the February Community Gallery
Art for sale and a portion of the proceeds benefit the NSYMCA Visual Arts
Northbrook, IL: January 2025 – North Suburban YMCA’s Community Gallery is showcasing artist Lois Johnson during the month of February where she is exhibiting her oil and acrylic paintings on nature and local cultures. All of the items featured will be for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Visual Arts department of the NSYMCA.
“My inspirations for my paintings stem from ethnographic studies, as well as from other artists,” says Johnson. “I wish to convey these experiences in my art by emphasizing the ideals of harmony and balance without uniformity.”
Lois Johnson grew up in a remote village in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and spent most of her work life researching local cultures and traditions of people in North and South America, as well as in Europe.
