Pastor Tells Police He Fondled Teenage Girl

The former pastor of teaching and discipleship at the North Suburban Free Evangelical Church in Deerfield walked into the police station last month and confessed to fondling a 16-year-old girl from the church.

Samuel Kee, 39, ofLake Zurich, told detectives at the Deerfield Police Department on Oct. 14 he committed a crime of a sexual nature during the summer of 2014 with a girl who was 16 at the time, according to the Daily North Shore. He allegedly confessed to touching the girl’s genitals.

Kee, who resigned as pastor on Oct. 25, was arrested the day after he confessed, once police confirmed the facts of the story with the victim. An internal investigation at the church began on Oct. 2, the DNS reported.

Kee, now free after posting $300,000 bail, will be arraigned in Lake County Criminal Court on Nov. 18.
