Petition Filing For April 2023 Consolidated Elections Begins Monday
Candidates may begin filling their petition packets with the Lake County Clerk's Office.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — Beginning on Monday, candidates for positions as Board of Education Members and Regional Board of School Trustees may begin filling their petition packets with the Lake County Clerk’s Office.
The Clerk’s Office will begin receiving petitions at 8:30 a.m. Pursuant to Illinois statute, those in line before 8:30 a.m. filing for the same office, will be placed into a lottery to determine ballot position, according to the county website.
"Having been a candidate, I am looking forward to welcoming those seeking public office to the Clerk’s Office," County Clerk Anthony Vega said. "I am sure that this is a day which each candidate will remember and shows their commitment to bettering their communities."

The Clerk’s Office will be open to receive petitions on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Monday, Dec. 19.
Candidates for other public offices (city and village boards, park districts, libraries, etc.) should check with their local administrator regarding filing requirements and office hours. Those interested can also contact the Lake County Clerk's Elections Department at Elections@lakecountyil.gov or 847-377-Vote (8683).
