Portillo's is Coming to Deerfield This Year
Popular Chicagoland hot dog chain will open 1970s themed restaurant on Lake Cook Road.

DEERFIELD, IL - After years of waiting, Deerfield will finally get its first bite into a Portillo’s dog this year.
Portillo’s - a popular Chicagoland retro-themed hot dog restaurant chain with locations throughout the suburbs - announced plans this week for their newest location to open before the end of the year on the northwest corner of Lake Cook Road and Deer Lake Road in Deerfield. The company plans to hire about 200.
“Portillo’s has been looking to open in Deerfield for a while,” Portillo’s CEO Keith Kinsey said. “We found a great location and we have the full support of the city of Deerfield...We’re looking forward to starting the construction process, hiring a great team and opening soon.”

The Deerfield Portillo’s will be one of only two to go with a 1970s theme. The other 70s’ themed Portillo’s opened last September in south suburban Homewood.
The new restaurant slated to open less than a mile east of Pfingsten Road will take up 9,000 square feet, have two drive-thru lanes and add seasonal outdoor seating.
