Riverwoods Police Investigate Burglary Across Street From Station

A masked trio who broke into a gas station on Deerfield Road last month remains at large, police said.

RIVERWOODS, IL — Officers are continuing to investigate an early-morning burglary that took place last month across the street from the police station. According to Riverwoods police, three men wearing masks, hoods and gloves broke into a gas station, setting off an alarm before making off with an unspecified amount of cash and cigarettes.

A manager of the Mobil gas station, 2201 Deerfield Road, called police shortly before 2:15 a.m. on Dec. 16 to report someone had just set off a burglar alarm at the business. Security video showed a trio of masked burglars force their way inside through the front door, according to police.

Chief Bruce Dayno released images from the security video Thursday. They showed one man, labeled as "suspect 1" wearing a white "Friday the 13th"-style mask with a black hood. A man labeled "suspect 3" appears to be wearing a "Chicago" Nike brand sweatshirt with red gloves.
