Park Ridge Teen Accused in Elderly Woman Carjacking Arrested Again
The 14-year-old also is accused of stealing a car that was found Tuesday unoccupied with keys in the ignition and the engine running.

PARK RIDGE, IL—A Park Ridge teen arrested in March after being accused of carjacking a vehicle with an 88-year-old woman still in the back seat is in trouble with the police again.

The 14-year-old was arrested by Park Ridge police Wednesday, April 13, after an investigation into a 2001 Chevrolet that had been reported stolen Monday, April 10 from the 2600 block of Dempster Street, police say. Officers found the unoccupied car with the keys in the ignition and the engine running Tuesday, April 11, in the 700 block of North Greenwood Avenue.

The teens was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and criminal damage to property in this case, the Chicago Tribune reports. He also has four outstanding petitions related to motor vehicle thefts with the Cook County Juvenile Justice Division, according to police.
One of those incidents involves an aggravated vehicular hijacking charge after police accuse the 14-year-old stealing a parked car outside a business at 901 Touhy Ave. An 88-year-old woman was still in the back seat as the teen drove away.

Eventually, the 14-year-old dropped the woman at her home, then drove off with the car.
