K-9 Officer Helps Track Down Drugs Hidden in Buffalo Grove Home: Police
A search warrant was executed Tuesday at a home in the 600 block of Hickory Drive.

A K-9 officer played a big role in helping to find drugs hidden in a Buffalo Grove home that lead to the arrest Tuesday of a 55-year-old man.
Mitchell L. Yablon, 55, was taken into custody following the search of his home in the 600 block of Hickory Drive in Buffalo Grove. He now faces felony drug charges. In addition, misdemeanor charges are expected to be filed against his wife, Marcy L. Yablon, 50.
Helping out of during the search on Tuesday was K- 9 Hogyn and his handler, Officer Danielle Baron. With the help of the police dog, authorities were able to more efficiently find the drugs hidden throughout the home, according to a news release.

“Their efforts saved officers time, and ensured all drugs and other contraband were located,” said Buffalo Grove Deputy Chief Roy Bethge in a news release.
Officers ended up seizing about 1.5 pounds of marijuana, dozens of drug paraphernalia items and about $2,600 in cash, according to police.

The police department’s Directed Patrol Unit remains vigilant in their efforts to detect drug operations within Buffalo Grove. Tuesday’s search was the department’s seventh successful search warrant in the last 18 months, according to the news release.
