Street Racers Slowed Down In Beach Park: Lake County Sheriff's Blotter

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The following information comes from the Lake County Sheriff's Office and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. ARRESTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO STATE SUPPORTED PROPERTY

Ivan Jimenez, 21, of the 100 block of N. Victory Street, Waukegan, is accused of criminal damage to state supported property, and was arrested June 16 at the Lake County Jail. He was being held there on other charges. A court date was to be determined at the time of the report.

THEFT

Bradley D. Sternal, 32, of the 38100 block Lee Avenue, unincorporated Spring Grove, had a warrant for theft, and was arrested June 16 at Nippersink Place and Lake Vista Terrace, Ingleside. He was released and assigned a court date of June 25.

STREET RACING

• Andrew Alejandro Arenas, 20, of the 4100 block of Brentwood Lane, Waukegan, is accused of street racing, and was arrested June 16 at Sheridan and Yorkhouse roads, Beach Park. He was released following his arrest.
• Brittany Cassandra Munoz, 23, of Milwaukee, is accused of street racing, and was arrested June 16 at Sheridan and Yorkhouse roads, Beach Park. She was released following her arrest.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

• Rex T. Jones, 21, of the 2400 block of 24th Place, North Chicago, is accused of aggravated assault, and was arrested June 16 in the 35700 block of Route 41, unincorporated Gurnee. He was released and assigned a court date of July 23.
• Daniel J. Varsek, 53, of the 33300 block of N. Lake Shore Drive, unincorporated Grayslake, is accused of aggravated assault, and was arrested June 20 in the 18400 block of W. Old Gages Lake Road, unincorporated Grayslake. He was released and assigned a court date of July 9.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE REVOKED

Joaquin Rangel, 55, of the 12200 block of W. Paddock Avenue, Beach Park, is accused of driving while license revoked, suspended registration, no insurance, and was arrested June 16 at Waldo and Garnett avenues, Beach Park. He was released following his arrest.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Michael A. Moberg, 51, of the 33600 block of N. Evergreen Avenue, Gages Lake, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license revoked, reckless driving, failure to make notification of crash, no insurance, and was arrested June 17 at Rollins Road and Grove Avenue, Ingleside. He was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 6.

VIOLATING AN ORDER OF PROTECTION

• Stephen G. Kunkel, 42, of the 26200 block of N. Walnut Avenue, unincorporated Mundelein, is accused of violating an order of protection, disorderly conduct, and was arrested June 17 in the 26200 block of N. Hickory Avenue, unincorporated Mundelein, He was being detained at the Lake County Jail at the time of the report and a court date of July 3 was assigned.
• Gregory D. Flescher, 62, no permanent address, is accused of violating an order of protection, and was arrested June 18 in the 38400 block of N. Manor Avenue, Beach Park. He was being detained in the Lake County Jail at the time of the report. A court date of July 8 was assigned.
• Micaila L. Kline, 21, of the 34100 block of N. Wineberry Lane, unincorporated Round Lake, is accused of violating an order of protection, and was arrested June 20 in the 34100 block of N. Wineberry Lane, unincorporated Round Lake. She was released and assigned a court date of June 25.

FAILURE TO REGISTER AS A SEXUAL OFFENDER

Korey X. Russell, 25, of the 2100 block of Honore Avenue, North Chicago, is accused of failure to register as a sexual offender, and was arrested June 18 in the 2100 block of Honore Avenue, North Chicago. He was released and assigned a court date of July 23.
