Street Sign To Recognize School's Model UN Accomplishment

Deerfield residents and visitors will be reminded of the top finish for Chicagoland Jewish High School at five village entrances.

A street sign recognizing the recent accomplishment of the Model United Nations team at Chicagoland Jewish High School will stand at five entrances to the village of Deerfield.

The team, which was one of only a handful in the nation to receive a First Place finish at the International Model UN Conference earlier this year in New York City, was honored by the village and Mayor Harriet Rosenthal during a board meeting last week.

An extra version of the street sign recognizing the first place achievement will be coming home to the school at 1095 Lake Cook Rd.

According to a school spokeswoman, dozens of parents and family members gathered at the Deerfield Village Hall, where the team members were called up to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and given some “very kind words” from Rosenthal.
