Walgreens Boots Alliance Headquarters To Be in Deerfield

The Walgreens Boots Alliance will keep its global headquarters in Deerfield.

A spokesperson for the world’s largest drug store chain confirmed Thursday the headquarters would remain in Deerfield at 108 Wilmot Road, where Walgreen’s has been since 1975. Walgreen’s recently merged with Alliance Boots, a Swiss company to create the Walgreens Boots Alliance, according to the Deerfield Review.

“Being a United States-based retail operation based in Deerfield, it made sense to have all the offices in one place,” said Michael Polzin, Walgreens’ vice president of corporate communications. “It will allow us to be more efficient with our office space and communication within our divisions.”

The news was welcoming to Deerfield Mayor Harriet Rosenthal, who said she was “thrilled” the merged company will remain in Deerfield.

“We’re delighted and will welcome them with open arms,” she said.
