• Man With Box Cutter Confronts Employee, Barricades Himself In Vape Shop: Des Plaines PD (patch.com) — Des Plaines police took a 26-year-old man into custody Friday after he allegedly confronted a vape shop employee with a box cutter and then barricaded himself inside the Rand Road business for several hours. Tactical officers negotiated his surrender without injuries, but neighboring strip mall businesses were closed for roughly four hours during the response while the investigation continues.    

• Illinois residents arrested after stolen vehicle chase in Fond du Lac, Winnebago counties (fox11online.com) — A 23-year-old man from Des Plaines was arrested in Wisconsin after deputies say he led them on a high-speed chase across Fond du Lac and Winnebago counties in a stolen vehicle. Authorities report the pursuit involved running red lights, driving through a yard and ditch, and a rollover crash before the car caught fire, with both Illinois occupants now facing multiple charges.
