• IL Tollway Worker Killed While Repairing Potholes Identified (patch.com) — Des Plaines readers are learning more about the Illinois Tollway worker killed while repairing potholes on I-294 near milepost 41.5 in the city early Saturday. Officials identified him as 52-year-old Calvin Holley of Chicago and noted that two coworkers were also injured, while urging drivers to obey Illinois’ Move Over Law to protect roadway crews.    

• NIU Defeats Coastal Carolina 12-10 for First NCAA Tournament Win in Program History (getsomemaction.com) — Northern Illinois University’s baseball team just earned its first-ever NCAA Tournament win, and Des Plaines is on the box score thanks to Maine West alum Charlie Parcell’s two-hit performance. The Huskies rallied past Coastal Carolina 12–10 in the Tallahassee Regional and advance to face St. John’s, capping a five-game win streak in dramatic fashion.
