Families from across the community gathered for an afternoon of Halloween fun at the Des Plaines Park District's annual Trunk or Treat event, creating lasting memories through creative costumes, festive activities, and plenty of candy.
Held at Prairie Lakes Community Center, the event welcomed children and their families to explore a variety of creatively decorated trunks hosted by park district departments, local organizations, businesses, and community partners. Participants enjoyed collecting treats while celebrating the Halloween season in a safe, family-friendly environment.
Children arrived dressed as superheroes, princesses, animals, and other imaginative characters, bringing excitement and energy to the event. The decorated trunks featured a wide range of themes, showcasing the creativity and Halloween spirit of volunteers and sponsors throughout the community.
"Trunk or Treat continues to be a favorite community tradition that brings families together for a fun and festive day," said Elizabeth Karras, Special Events Supervisor. The event highlighted the Des Plaines Park District's commitment to creating meaningful community experiences that connect residents of all ages.
The Des Plaines Park District extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who participated, decorated a trunk, volunteered, or attended the event. Their support helped create a memorable Halloween celebration for local families.
