APA Bolingbrook hosted the largest celebration of Pakistan in USA

Pakistani Americans came to Bolingbrook last Saturday to enjoy the Pakistani food and entertainment and to raising the Pakistani Flag

Bolingbrook is the one of the Most beautiful and cleanest place in Illinois. The village of Bolingbrook, located in a southwest suburb of Chicago that is part of Will and DuPage counties in the state of Illinois. Taste of Pakistan symbolizes Pakistani community that has grown in several years an estimated 30,000 Pakistani lived in Bolingbrook and as well as nearby neighboring Cities. Last year Consulate General Faisal Niaz Tirmizi said “The Bolingbrook is my second Home. I can’t miss any Event here.”

The Taste of Pakistan event in Bolingbrook is like no other in any city in the USA because they always well organized. Last 27th year they don’t have any complaints from the village and from audiences about Taste of Pakistan. Attraction more ten thousand of attendees each year some time attendance is more than 15,000 because weathers and depend who is performing music. It’s always a full day event with fun filled activities for the entire family and friends since program start 27th year ago. Food, entertainment and shopping at its very best. None of Pakistani event has a full day event.

This Year the Taste of Pakistan event is also held as part of the yearlong Bicentennial Celebration in the State of Illinois. Illinois will turn 200 years old on Dec. 3, 2018, which marks the day the Land of Lincoln became the 21st state in the union and the village of Bolingbrook delegates will be part of the celebration.

Talat Rashid is the founder of the Associated of Pakistani Americans of Bolingbrook is the man behind all the successes. Mr. Rashid is serving as a Police Commissioner of Bolingbrook. The village of Bolingbrook, which has recently become a sister city of Sialkot Pakistan. Dr. Muhammed Nadeem Longi, Dr. Maria Christine Bayang and Dr. Moazzam Saeed of Amita Health Adventist Medical Center, Bolingbrook was the main sponsor of the event. Dr. Muhammed Nadeem Longi and Dr. Moazzam Saeed is sponsoring this event since Last 10 years.

Saturday's August 25, 2018 the weather was Hot and humid, but comfortable for any kind of open air event. The Pakistani flag raising took place at 6:30 p.m., by Mayor Claar and Vice Consul General of Pakistan Rabia Shafiq along with other prominent member of the community. A program held at the Bolingbrook Performing Arts Center behind Town Center, 375 West Briarcliff Rd.

Vice Consul General of Pakistan Rabia Shafiq, Commercial Consul general Amir Tareen and Mayor Roger Claar and several other Elected officials, including State and Village officials and the board members of the APA were present at the opening ceremony. Many of Guests and candidate on upcoming Election also present at the opening ceremony. Mir Ali was the Master of Ceremonies. several individuals received lifetime achievement awards from the village of Bolingbrook including Abdul Razzak. He Play Important Key role in Bolingbrook and Pakistani City Sialkot Sister City Program. Mayor Roger Claar was so happy to receive the Cricket bat, which was signed by Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan.

The Musical concert featured some of Pakistan's biggest names in entertainment, such as world-renowned singers Ali Haider, DJ Kazi and Malika Faisal. The diversity was impressive. Punjabi Bhangra dance performed by the youngster audience when popular songs performed. They engaged and entertained till music program stop.

Sponsors of the event were Helping Hand, Etihad airways, Tandoori Restaurant, Jadoo, Amita Health, Absolute Healthcare, Bismillah Restaurant, Advance Pediatric Care, News Pakistan, Express News etc.

Pakistani Community and its leaders were very grateful to the city of Bolingbrook and Mayor Roger C. Claar for sponsoring, always supporting and kindly hosting such a wonderful event.

A Pakistani Family who came from Indiana said " There are tons of activities for every family. We had so Enjoyment and Live entertainment, activity, food, excitement and fun for the whole family it should be a two-day event not a single event.”
