Automakers Unveiled More Affordable EVs at the Chicago Auto Show 2025

The Chicago Auto Show, the biggest automotive show in North America, began in 1901 and has since hosted more events than any other car shows on the continent. The 117th Chicago Auto Show is taking place this year.

Taken in the Magnificent McCormick Location In addition to the wide range of domestic and foreign passenger cars, trucks, SUVs, minivans, and concept and experimental vehicles, the Chicago Show Display annually features major international and North American premieres too.

The dates for the Chicago Auto Show are Saturday, February 8 through Monday, February 17. Every day, the Auto Show opens at 10 a.m.

In addition to Monday, February 10 through Sunday, February 16, it closes at 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 8 p.m. on Monday, February 17, and 9 p.m. on Saturday, February 8.

Three different car types were displayed by prominent automakers at this year's Chicago Auto Show: concept cars, debut cars, and production automobiles.

The Tesla Cyber truck was the centerpiece of the 2025 Auto Show in Chicago.

The auto show featured a large number of electric vehicles (EVs) from automakers such as BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, Kia, Lucid, Nissan, and Volkswagen. The majority of them provided test drives. Test drives of the Tesla Cyber truck were not offered.

Viewing and testing a number of EVs, such as the 2026 BMW i5, the 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQ, the Ford F-150 Lightning Switchgear, and more contemporary models like the Lucid Air, was exciting.

In 2025, during the Chicago Auto Show the Illinois Secretary of State's office provided DMV services to anyone who wanted their documentation updated. Nobody needs an appointment.

"The Chicago Auto Show is a cornerstone event for the city, and we are excited to open our doors again this winter welcoming attendees to experience the latest vehicles, technology and activations," organizer stated.

On Friday, February 7, McCormick Place will host a black-tie charity event called First Look for Charity. Since its founding, First Look for Charity has given $60 million to neighborhood organizations in the Chicago area. There will be great music, delectable food and beverages, and a chance to win a brand-new 2025 Chevrolet Blazer. This year, visitor tickets are slightly more expensive.

Making the auto show interactive by allowing guests to sit in cars and look at the engines was another goal. There are additional displays and unique elements that highlight vintage and customized cars.

Although it is smaller than usual, it only takes up one exhibition hall rather than two. Numerous automakers were present this year, and many customers were happy to see the Chicago Auto Show again.
