There will be refreshments to purchase and plenty of FREE parking too! Raffles with great prizes supplied by our vendors...FREE to enter and lots of FREE PARKING. There will be Live Entertainment to make the day more fun and other surprises too along with coupons for the first 100 attendees (over 18 and one per family) to purchase items from our vendors along with a FREE photo booth!
For over a decade, the Morton Grove Farmers' Market was a popular event that brought the community together outdoors from late spring through early fall and also held indoor markets for the holidays which welcomed attendees for free. We are continuing that tradition with our twice yearly "Market Faire" this Fall on October 24 presented by the Morton Grove Chamber of Commerce - <a href="https://mgcci.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">https://mgcci.org/</a> - with the support of the Morton Grove Park District.
Rich Block, President of the Morton Grove Chamber was also managed the Farmers' Market who wanted to bring back an indoor event for the holidays for the residents of the village and surrounding communities to enjoy. The spirit of those markets continues as a place where people come together to meet, eat and enjoy entertainment while shopping for items from local artisans and crafters, visit with service providers and get information from the village and local organizations. 
The first event was titled as a "holiday faire" attracting shoppers interested in seeing vendors who provided all that was needed for the holidays (gifts, catering, music, photographers, decorations, party rentals and more). That concept transitioned to an artisan crafts fair as others wanted to share their goods and services who offered gourmet foods, home repair services and more from home based businesses. We quickly outgrew our original locations and found a new home at the Morton Grove Park District's Prairie View Community Center on their first floor main gym that now allows us to have expanded the amount of vendor tables with easier access.&nbsp;
The Chamber's goal is to grow these Market Faires (this fall on October 24th from 9 am to 2 pm). Next Spring Market Faire will be May 8 close to Mother's Day in 2027. We are growing into a twice yearly, popular event for all to find interesting items, services and information while meeting their neighbors. The Des Plaines Garden Club will hold its Annual Holiday Luncheon on Thursday, November 12 at 11am at Manzo’s Banquets in Des Plaines.&nbsp; We will have a raffle of great prizes, an instant win board, silent auction, and our famous bake sale.&nbsp; There will also be a 50/50 raffle with proceeds going to our Irma Lehmann Scholarship Fund.
