Democratic U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi has an opponent in his 2020 Primary election bid, as Doctor Inam Hussain has filed to run for the seat in Illinois’s 8th Congressional District.
During a public meeting, which was held on Wednesday, November 27th, 2019 at Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. Dr. Hussain said, “I am a candidate to represent that has community First. I have been living here for over 50 years and spent the most of part of my life to serving the needs of this community. Now I am challenging congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi for Illinois 8th Congressional District. I believe I am the best candidate to beat Raja in March Primary election. I will be the voice of marginalized communities. Equality for all individuals. District 8 need a strong voice to fight for them in Washington. They need leaders that work for all of us.
Mr. Hussain continued, I emphasized various beliefs. I want to be a compassionate Democrat to bring American Values of equality, dignity and justice. He said, “I will be focusing on supports the Medicare for All and prevent gun violence and drug epidemic. I represent myself and my American values, but I am a strong supporter Climate Change and Green New Deal resolution, which is reach emergent proportion.”
He further said, “I’ve never had an interest in politics. I’m running because of Raja. He is neglecting important issues in his congressional district 8th. I believe Congressman Raga is working in USA to spread to promote Indian government interests. His presence in "Howdy Modi" event and sharing the stage with President Trump betrays common democratic voters. Raja is not accessible and easy to get in touch with the community.
As a physician when I become a congress member. I will support reduce drug prices. I will be focused on freedom, education, tax cuts, individual liberties, charity, industry and families.
Hussain concluded by sharing his opinions on, “I will work very hard every day to defend our Community, our values, rebuild America and repair broken system.
Other issues that Hussain views as important to the 8th Congressional District of Illinois, especially in fixing our broken criminal justice system and raising the minimum wage.
When elected, he will be the Pakistani American in Congress.
