Community warmly welcome Brandon Johnson, During a Meet & Greet Event
Mayor-elect Chicago Mr. Brandon Johnson Meet and Greet event was hosted by Mr. Tariq Siddique and Ms. Shahida Khan.
Mayor-elect Chicago Mr. Brandon Johnson, appeared at Alhambra Palace Restaurant Chicago on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 7 p.m. and shook hands with members of the Pakistani and several ethnic communities in Chicago.
The event was hosted by Mr. Tariq Siddique and Ms. Shahida Khan. They are renowned for offering social and welfare services in Chicago and all over the world.
Tariq Siddique said, “Today's event is significant because the mayor-elect of Chicago came to meet with us, network with us, and get ideas for how to resolve issues in Chicago, particularly those affecting our communities, we have picked the best candidate for our city. Mr. Johnson is chosen by all Chicago residents. I came to the United States 35 years ago, but I feel my real brother won the election.”

During the event the President of the Cook County Board of Commissioners Toni Preckwinkle thanked community and attendees and said, “Our warmest wishes and support with you Mr. Mayor-Elect Brandon Johnson. We elect you for four years and we hope he will make a better City in our country.”
Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson spoke about issues important to the City of Chicago he will face as a mayor. Topics covered included public safety and rebuilding Chicago. I’m very excited to get to work as Mayor in a few days, but I’m also very humbled to be here. I am very honored by the community's trust in me, the mayor-elect stated. I know Mr. Siddique is trying to take all the credit but I will give credit to my wife. She will be the first lady in Chicago history.
