Consul General of Pakistan opened his home for Eid ul Fitr celebration

400 people attended the lavish event including members of the media, academia, elected leaders local dignitaries, Federal & State officials

In honor of the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr on April 10, 2024, Mr. Tariq Karim, the Consul General of Pakistan in Chicago, hosted an Eid Open House at his home.

More than 400 people attended the lavish event, including members of the media, academia, elected leaders, local dignitaries, Federal & State officials, and members of the Pakistani-American community from all walks of life. The guests were individually welcomed by Mrs. Aasma Tariq and Consul General Tariq Karim.

The Consul General's attempt to organize a big and diverse group of community members from the Midwest region, along with their families and local leaders, to celebrate Eid was applauded by the guests. They referred to the occasion as a fantastic chance to interact and build relationships. It felt like they were in Pakistan because of the celebratory ambiance at the home, which was decorated with handicrafts from Pakistan and served a delicious variety of Pakistani food.

The community was greeted with heartfelt wishes for Eid by Consul General Tariq Karim. He highlighted that, regardless of one's origin, Eid offers a chance to spread joy and promote harmony, unity, and compassion. He emphasized that we should all be proud of our joint efforts to create a world that is affluent and peaceful by celebrating Eid together.

In order to further the Pakistan-US collaboration, the consul general called on local leaders, elected officials, and people of the community to get involved. Praying for Pakistan's prosperity and well-being brought the gathering to a close.
