Cops Run Into Burning Home To Save Disabled Man's Life

Two police officers in Des Plaines saved the life of a disabled man who was inside a home that caught fire Sunday morning.

DES PLAINES, IL - Two police officers in Des Plaines are credited with saving the life of a disabled man who was stuck inside a home when it caught fire Sunday morning. The officers rushed into a two-story home in the 300 block of Westgate Road around 8:40 a.m. after neighbors told them a disabled man was inside the burning building and brought him outside to safety, according to a report from the Chicago Tribune.

Both police officers, who weren't named immediately in media reports, suffered smoke inhalation and were treated for other injuries they sustained in the rescue. No one else was hurt in the fire.
