David Enriquez is Honored with Dedicated to Excellence Award

David Enriquez, Camp Director at both the 2016 West Park and Discovery summer camps, was recognized with the Dedicated to Excellence Award at the Park Board meeting on Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Enriquez, who began working for the park district in July of 2015, first brought his military background to the Building Supervisor position at the Leisure Center, quickly earning the respect of staff and customers. His leadership qualities made him a natural choice for the position of Summer Camp Director, and, according to Recreation Supervisor Jeanette Berard, “David stepped up to the challenge and was not only a great asset to the program, he was an inspiration to counselors and campers.” In the fall, Enriquez will be finishing classes in preparation for teaching in the Chicago Public School system this spring, and continuing as an important part of the park district as a Building Supervisor.

The Dedicated to Excellence Award is presented three times a year to employees who have made a positive contribution to the Park District. Potential recipients are nominated by park district staff members, and evaluated by the Employee Relations Committee and Administrators for creativity, responsibility, community relations, and customer service.
