Democrat & Republican raised funds for devastating flood in Pakistan
Democrat and Republican leaders in DuPage County have raised funds for disaster relief in Pakistan.
On Saturday, September 24, 2022, a fundraising event was held at the Al Falak Banquet Hall, Lombard which was organized by several members of the DuPage Pakistani Community. Democratic and Republican leaders in DuPage County have raised funds for disaster relief in Pakistan. During the fundraiser at the event they raised more than $20,000 to help Pakistan after the devastating floods.
Mayor Glendale Heights Mr. Chodri Ma Khokhar Said During his Speech, “We need to come together and help Flood victims in Pakistan, together we can save lives by providing life-saving health, nutrition, and education services to every child Man and Women in Pakistan who needs it most.
During the first phase of the fundraising dinner, 20,000 dollars have been collected in just one hour, while in the next phase of the program, another big amount will be collected for the rehabilitation of the flood victims in couple Weak. Top government officials, including Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White., Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi and Consul General Chicago Tariq Karim and many others attended the fundraising dinner and made generous donations.

According to fundraising organizers, their target has reached Twenty thousand Dollar, while Several DuPage officials and the American corporate sector have also pledged huge financial support and all possible resources to flood victims. The Renown dignitaries who attended and contributed to the event were James Mendrick, Bob Schillwestrom, Douglas flint, Chris Dargus, Bob Berlin, Evelyn Sanguinetti, and many others.
Iqbal Khan, from the DuPage County Sheriff's Advisory Board said, “the money would go towards providing shelter and survival packs all over in Pakistan.”

On this occasion, Mayor Glendale Heights Mr. Chodri Ma Khokhar appealed to the international community to help Pakistan in this time of disaster and assured that we stand with Pakistanis in this difficult time. He further said that the number of flood-affected people in Pakistan is more than the population of the American state of Illinois, from which the disaster situation can be estimated.
Currently, several Charities and mosques across Chicagoland have launched appeals to support those affected by the flooding.
