Des Plaines Church Adopts Big Bend Lake

Members and friends of First Congregational UCC of Des Plaines visited Big Bend Lake near Des Plaines in May to remove litter and to enjoy hiking and viewing wildlife in its natural habitat. The church has adopted Big Bend Lake through the Cook County Forest Preserve Adopt-a-Site program and schedules regular Big Bend visits April through November. Volunteer work hours are tallied as part of the church's "Service 150" sesquicentennial observance in 2019. For further information, call 847/299-5561.
