Des Plaines Garden Club & Des Plaines Public Library Co Host "Victory Gardens" Presentation

The Des Plaines Garden Club along with The Des Plaines Public Library will host a presentation given by Kristin  Larson at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19th., at the Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood St.  Her presentation is filled with historic details on how, when and why these gardens came to be.  These gardens then soon disappeared soon after WWII and now are making a great come back.  Kristin will emphasize on the health of a community, and the educational benefits of vegetable gardening.  Come enjoy an afternoon of gardening in the past with others.  Cost is free, but reservations are needed so call the Ds Plaines Public Library at 847-827-5551.
