A Des Plaines man was killed in a chain-reaction crash on the Tri-State Tollway Saturday morning, the Chicago Tribune reported citing police. The victim was identified as 54-year-old Jeffery Komada.
Komada's vehicle rear-ended a minivan stalled in traffic that in turn caused a Volkswagen to hit Komada's car. Komada exited the vehicle and was hit by a semitrailer truck.
The crash remains under investigation. All lanes of traffic have reopened as of 1:30 p.m.
