Des Plaines Man Made Up Robbery Story to Avoid Paying Debt to Cousin: Cops
The Des Plaines man has been charged with a felony for the story he allegedly made up in Morton.

MORTON GROVE, IL - A Des Plaines man has been charged with a felony after allegedly fabricating a robbery story in order to avoid paying a debt to his cousin.
Police said the man, 26-year-old Kasif Motiwala, told police on Oct. 21 he was robbed of $4,500 by two armed men while he was at a stop sign at Beckwith Road and Austin Avenue in Morton Grove, according to a Morton Grove Champion report.
After an investigation, police found that Motiwala made up the story. He allegedly told authorities that he owed that amount of money to his cousin and made the story up as an excuse to not pay the debt.
Motiwala has been charged with disorderly conduct.
