Des Plaines Park District to Host Earth Day Celebration at the Administrative & Leisure Center

The Des Plaines Park District invites the community to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 25, at the Administrative & Leisure Center

The event will feature a variety of engaging, family-friendly activities focused on environmental awareness, sustainability, and community involvement.

Attendees can look forward to:

  • Interactive environmental activities and displays
  • Educational opportunities promoting sustainability
  • Family-friendly crafts and hands-on experiences
  • Community engagement centered on caring for our parks and natural spaces

Participating community groups include Des Plaines Garden Club, Des Plaines History Center, Bike & Walk Des Plaines, Conservation@Home, Des Plaines Public Library, Go Green Des Plaines, Creative Corners Preschool, District 62 Central Cares, and JG’s Reptile Road Show.

“The Des Plaines Park District is committed to providing meaningful opportunities for our community to connect with and care for the environment,” said Don Miletic, Executive Director. “Earth Day is a great opportunity to bring people together to celebrate and protect our natural resources.”

The event is free and open to the public. All activities will take place at the Administrative & Leisure Center, located at 2222 Birch Street in Des Plaines.
