A few spots remain for the inaugural Pickleball Tournament hosted by the Des Plaines Park District set for this Saturday and Sunday, April 28 and 29 at Prairie Lakes Community Center, 515 E. Thacker St., Des Plaines. Registration deadline is Thursday, April 26.

Major sponsor for this initial Des Plaines Park District tournament in what many consider the fastest growing sport in America is World Team Pickleball (WTP), a national organization founded by former U.S. Team Olympian Luara Fenton Kovanda. Recognized as one of the top professional Pickleball and racquetball professionals in the United States, she is also a multiple Gold Medal winner in national Pickleball events.
