Corrie Guynn, Assistant Superintendent of Parks & Planning, represented the Des Plaines Park District at this year’s National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Annual Conference in Indianapolis.
Guynn co-authored and presented a well-attended workshop titled “Engagement: The Key To Rocking Staff Trainings” along with colleagues from the Skokie Park District and the Buffalo Grove Park District. Guynn holds a number of important certifications which are critical to the successful management of the parks and facilities in the district. In addition to being a Certified Parks & Recreation Professional, he is a Certified Arborist, a Certified Playground Safety Inspector, and a Certified Pool Operator.
The NRPA Annual Conference is the premier annual meeting of the park and recreation community. The three-day event brings together more than 8,000 park and recreation professionals, citizen advocates and industry suppliers who have the opportunity to attend hundreds of education sessions. “Staying current on certifications, and attending these valuable education conferences, is crucial to the success of the park district,” said Executive Director Don Miletic. “Our parks and facilities are second to none in the industry because of our dedicated staff. Corrie always represents the best of who we are.”
