District 62 Superintendent Remains On Leave
Associate Superintendent Dr. Paul Hertel will continue to fill in as Dr. Floyd Williams remains on leave.

DES PLAINES, IL - Des Plaines School District 62 Superintendent Dr. Floyd Williams has been on leave from the district since October 17. District officials confirmed Friday that Associate Superintendent Dr. Paul Hertel will provide day-to-day leadership while Williams is away.
Herted has been with District 62 since 2006 and has served as director of human resources, assistant superintendent for human resources and associate superintendent.
"He has earned and maintains full licensure to serve as a district administrator and a superintendent," the district said in a statement.

The district has not released a reason for the departure of Williams from his regular duties other than to call the situation "a family matter," according to the Daily Herald.
District officials did not provide an anticipated return date for Williams in their statement issued to media on Friday.
