Driver Hurt in I-90 Accident at Construction Zone

The unidentified man was hospitalized, and the crash briefly shut down an eastbound lane of the interstate near Elmhurst Road.

DES PLAINES, IL—A driver was hurt Wednesday morning when his car hit a construction vehicle on Interstate 90 near Elmhurst Road outside Des Plaines, the Daily Herald reports.

The unidentified man had minor injuries and was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, the report stated.

According to Illinois State Police, the driver's Mercury struck a construction vehicle at about 5:21 a.m. as it was going into the work zone on the tollway, the report stated. The accident shut down I-90's left eastbound lane for a brief time, and it is still being investigated.
