The District seeks substitute teachers for all six of its elementary schools – Apollo, Mark Twain, Melzer, Nelson, Stevenson, and Washington – as well as its junior high, Gemini. Substitute teacher candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree – or higher – from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
Through its seven schools, East Maine School District 63 serves a diverse population of more than 3,600 students who live in portions of Des Plaines, Niles, Glenview, Park Ridge, and Morton Grove.

More than 60 languages are spoken within the district; approximately 86 percent of the students come from homes in which a language other than English is spoken. District 63 is an inclusive district, offering a full range of services for academic, social, emotional, and physical growth – including cutting edge special education and ESL/bilingual programs.
