Eaton Field Park Set To Reopen

Eaton Field Park in Des Plaines will reopen October 3.

After months of patiently waiting for their new park to open, residents of the Eaton Field Park area, on the southeast side of Des Plaines, will be treated to a Grand Reopening Celebration on Saturday, October 3, at 10:00am. The renovations include brand new playgrounds, for ages 2–5 and ages 5–12, a walking path around the park, basketball courts, soccer goals, benches, bicycle racks, port-o-lets during the active seasons, and extensive landscaping. A special face-to-face parent-child swing is the first of its kind in Des Plaines. Eaton Field Park is at 2975 Craig Drive.

The Park District will host the event, with their recreation staff bringing crafts and games for the whole family, including the popular Giant Jenga. “We received great input from the residents of the Eaton Field Park area for the design and amenities,” said Don Miletic, Executive Director of the park district, “and because we received a significant amount of additional funding via a federal Community Development Block Grant through the City of Des Plaines, we were able to build a truly outstanding park that will serve the community for many years.”
