Empowering Women NFP Host Annual Ramadan Campaign 2025

During 2025 Ramadan Empowering Women NFP and their committed volunteers served daily iftar dinner every evening at the South Side of Chicago at a most deserving African Muslim Community on Stony Island Avenue. This has been Empowering Women NFP’s 6th Ramadan serving this community. Thanks to donors, volunteers and supporters, Empowering Women NFP provided meals every evening for over 150 - 200 people. Their volunteers helped set up, serve food and clean up after iftar. 30 days of committed service and 30 days of spiritual growth during the Holy month of Ramadan. Volunteers were from all ages and from all religious backgrounds. Each wanting to help and serve this underserved community.

At the end of the month, the team distributed 100 plus toys to all the children for Eid. It was a joyous time seeing the excitement on children’s faces as they received their gifts.

Empowering Women NFP is a Chicago, Illinois, based 501c3 organization dedicated to providing services to domestic violence survivors and their families, with a primary focus on areas with underserved communities of color.

Empowering Women NFP assists survivors of domestic violence including physical, emotional, economic and sexual abuse, by providing emotional, legal, life-skills, and employment-related support, along with a broad range of workshops focused on self-reliance. The team and services are trauma informed and culturally respectful.
